Error - Program Won't Run

Hi
I downloaded npp.8.4.6.portable.arm64.zip. (Downloads/npp.8.4.6.portable.arm64.zip)
It was a .zip file (Zip Archive (Folder) and I extracted the files (5,190 KB) and found notepad++.exe and I extracted those files (2,333 KB) and guess what I found? notepad++.exe! I tried to run it and it didn’t work. Can (any) of you help me? -

Why did you download the ARM version? If running normal Windows you should select either the x86 or x64bit versions.
What version of OS are you putting this onto?

I am one WIndows 10 and I was at https://notepad-plus-plus.org/downloads/v8.4.6/ and I didn’t mean or know that was downloading an ARM. What does an ARM do anyway?

Bear in mind your other post here asking for urgent reply is unrealistic.
This is a forum of Notepad++ users who enjoy using and helping others to use the program. This is not a paid product, so expecting an instant response is not going to help, especially re-posting again for urgent help.

So why did you think that was the correct one? You obviously picked one, did you not think to try and understand what you were installing?
Inside your PC is a CPU (processor). They are made by different manufacturers. Commonly Windows uses Intel or AMD (not ARM) but these are both classed as x86 or x64 bit CPU’s based on the Windows version type loaded. ARM is a different type of CPU which can also run a lightweight type of Windows.
Go check your Windows version and look for either x86 or x64 and then download the correct Notepad++ version for your system.

There is no 8.8.4. I think you need to slow down. Follow my instruction re finding which version of Windows you have. Then download the appropriate one for that version of Windows.
