      If i want to save a document over a already opened document, the ide is throwing away my work with a error message, instead of doing what it is requested.

      It should, overwrite the file, close the old instance without saving it and make the current active document the document saved. If the user does not remember the propably unsaved content of a older document, maybe add a safety dialog, but still go through with it.

      Software should never throw away user work. Even if it is just a few clicks.

        @Florian-Seidl-Schulz ,

        Save As has always worked for me.

        Can you be a bit more specific as to the exact sequence of events, the exact error message, and the exact version details (?-menu’s Debug Info). Without that, your chances of getting any useful help are vanishingly small.
