((BOL)) delimiter for UDL (or something like that)
-
Hi,
In the tab “Operators and Delimiters” it would be useful to have a begin-of-line delimiter similar to the ((EOL)) used for the end-of-line; this would allow the use of a single common character (like for example #, >, !) in the first position as an open delimiter to create many formatting styles for an entire line.

Interesting idea. As the FAQ explains, we fellow users in the Community Forum cannot make changes to the Notepad++ code from the forum; feature requests have a separate process described in this FAQ.
And, as a side note: despite many requests, there have been no improvements to the UDL system in years, so even if you make a feature request, it is unfortunately likely that nothing will come of that request; I think the developer feels that UDL is “good enough” as it currently stands, and that people who need more should look into developing a Lexer Plugin that can have more features than the current UDL interface.
