          @Alex-Andr ,

          see the FAQ: Feature Request or Bug Report for information on how to ask for a new feature.

            For example, you are editing the text on line 515, then you started editing on line 214. By pressing the Back button, the cursor should move to 515. Analogue Undo but without canceling the text and only moving the cursor

              In Android Studio, this command Back is called Ctrl + Alt + Left

                I think I know what you mean. A similar feature exists in Visual Studio:

                Here is a short demo for those unfamiliar with the feature:

                You can fill a feature request on GitHub as described in the comment above.
                But please, follow the guidelines and provide all the necessary details.

                  I really wanted @Alex-Andr to define the feature, since he brought it up.

                  you are editing the text on line 515, then you started editing on line 214

                  Okay…

                  But what if you are on line 515 and you hold the up arrow down until you get to, say, line 214. As the up arrow repeats, it will move from line 515 to line 514 to 513, etc. and finally you stop on 214.

                  Then what is the “back” button supposed to do? Walk you back one line at a time to line 515, as you invoke “back” over and over again? I hardly see that as useful, since holding the down arrow would do the same thing.

                    And then another point: It’s all fine for files you are just browsing, but what happens to all these navigation “points” when you start inserting/deleting text such that the position of the original points shifts?

                    It’s fine and dandy to make a feature request, but it’s much better to bring a complete “spec” when you do so.

                      Yes, this feature is very useful. Maybe someone else implements it, I see the application is updated frequently.
