Update Installation Path
-
 Have to say: I love NP++ Hate to say: NP++ updates dont suggest the update installation in NP++ installation directory. I never install software in C:…\Program Files if I can avoid that.
 However NP++ updates always propose to be installed there, even if an older version resides on another drive or in a user defined directory. It’s so easy to press ENTER too fast, when updating…Please consider reading NP++'s installation location and propose to put the updates there! Thanks

 At the same time it does not remember “appdata” checkbox state too… so even if you remembered where you installed it I still wish you good luck with remembering if you wanted it to save things in appdata or not…

 Better: Use the “portable” version of Notepad++.

 Agreed. It gets a bit annoying over time when you’ve choosen a non-standard installation path. A simple reg read at the beginning of the installation process would do the job. E.g.:
 HKLM\Software\Notepad++
 HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Path\notepad++.exe

This forum isn’t the right place for bug tracking, so I have appended your advice (linking to your post and quoting and citing you as the author) in the official issue #7946.
