      Has somebody tried that?

      It ends with an error and i can’t find it in the GNOME start menu…

      xxx@debian-xxx-dev:~/Downloads$ wine npp.7.8.Installer.x64.exe
      003b:err:winediag:SECUR32_initNTLMSP ntlm_auth was not found or is outdated. Make sure that ntlm_auth >= 3.0.25 is in your path. Usually, you can find it in the winbind package of your distribution.

      Was somebody sucessful with wine…? Thank you for your feedbacks.

      Best regards, Jan

        I am using Notepad++ on wine for a long time.
        I did not try the installer. I recommend that you will try the zip package.

        I did encounter some issues over the years. Some I resolved, others I learned to live with.

          @Hans-Müller ,

          As an alternative you can try https://snapcraft.io/notepad-plus-plus.
