Can't Specify Selected Text Color

Using Style Configurator I’ve set things up with colors I like, but I’m unable to set the text color of selected text.
I’ve got the background color I like, but for the color of selected letters themselves I do Style Configurator > Selected Text Color and set it like this
but it produces these colors which make the text unreadble.
How can I make the text itself black (against a lighter color background)?
