      In “Find in Files”, would it be possible to skip search contents of binary files based on file content type detection (like using “file” on Unix)? Can this improve search times dramatically (when applicable)?

        in the meantime, but not sure if this helps, you know that you can provide multiple filters
        to the find in files dialog? Like *.py, *.txt, *.cxx …
