Updating NPP and open tabs on program restart

Will updating NPP close out the open tabs when the program restarts after the update?

Not usually. I’ve never had it happen in my years of Notepad++ experience. But every once in a while, users complain here that it did. So if you haven’t done the update yet, I would suggest making sure all your files are saved. And if you have lots of files open and aren’t sure you could re-create your active session if something went wrong, do a File > Save Session to a known location – so if something does happen, you can File > Load Session to get it back.

Not normally. Sometimes settings aren’t what people think, though. For instance, if you have turned off save last session (I believe it is) it won’t be saved. But if you haven’t changed theSettings->Preferences->Backupsettings, it should be set to relaunch with the tabs open after updating.Edit: Obviously @PeterJones and I were typing at the same time but he beat me. :-)
