In this RC, a bug detected by @guy038 has been fixed. As well the sorting result of column Type has been enhanced (more accurate).

Notepad++ v7.8.5 Enhancement & bug-fixes:

Fix “Monitoring” not detecting all file changes issue.
Fix auto-updater disabling not working regression.
Fix Notepad++ doesn’t exit correctly while Windows 10 update restart.
Make Count command in Find dialog respect Backward-direction and Wrap-around options.
Make Find dialog remember its position across runs.
Add the document size column to the Windows Selection dialog.
Make “View Current File in(browser)” commands macro recordable.
Add external sound control capability for unsuccessful search (in Find dialog) bell.

I noticed feature 8. was added as default. A beep now plays whenever I perform an unsuccessful search. May you please let me know how I can turn the feature off?

This has always been and is still the default.
Don’t know what you are talking about.

But, after some additional research, if you open the Sound Mixer applet you should be able to mute Notepad++ if that is your wish.
