Feature Request: Ignore 'file modified' notification when opening a new file.
-
I often have dozens of files open in Notepad++. Many of them might be log files or configuration files that are bound to change .
If I select a file in my Explorer and “Edit With Notepad++”, I would like it that this file be the focused tab in Notepad++, regardless of any notifications of ‘file changed’.
The way it works currently is that I select “Edit with Notepad++”. Then, the focus goes to Notepad++, then I receive 3 notifications of files that have changed (do you want to keep the file or show the new version?). But the focus stays on the last file that received a notification, it does not go back to the newly opened file.
And since I almost always open files with the same name (ex: package.json), I do not know which is which. This means I have to go back in the Explorer and open the file again to put the focus on the correct file.

Yes ! This has been annoying me quite a bit. Reload the files in the background (not ‘ignoring’ it) and end with the focus on the just-opened file.

Any reason you can’t turn Update Silently on to get your desired behavior?
-
Because I quite like getting notified that a file has updated!

I wasn’t talking to you; if you notice, I directed my comment to @Bruno-Guillemette
