      Hello all,

I was just wondering if there was any way of completely disabling any interaction of plugins, whether it be importing them or being able to run them. I am currently being asked to put it on our school system for Computer Science and I am really having trouble as some of the plugins are causing security issues. I have disabled plugins from when I installed it initially but then! I saw an option to import plugins… Which then students are able to download the .zip files and within them the .dll files and import them again that way. Plugins then appear.

Here is the situation with students and restrictions. They are unable to delete files or see server drives other than shared area. This has always been the case.

But with a few certain plugins, for example, Explorer and Lite explorer plugin enables students to actually see server drives and the C: drive! Potentially delete things from the C: drive and look at server drives on our network, then copy and paste them to there own area. We need to disable it completely but I cannot find an option to do so. It needs to be a full install not zip, and still function but without the need for plugins.

      Please advice,

      Thanks,
      Craig.

If drives can be seen from within a plugin than it means your configured policy isn’t correctly setup
and from my experience it is always a bad idea to modify an app to do what a gpo should do.
Nevertheless, did you try the -noPlugin switch?

        Cheers
        Claudia

          Hi !

Thanks for replying, I tried the switch and no it is the same unfortunately. Might have to look at our GPO config or just say no to the program in this case. Will keep trying though thanks,

          Thanks,
          Craig

Are you sure? This switch disables the plugin manager - you still have the import
menu but you cannot load the plugins.

            Cheers
