Some options of the advanced NodeBB search no longer work correctly !

Hello, All,

I tried to do an advanced search, on our Node BB site, clicking first on the magnifier icon, on the right, then clicking on the double gears icon =>

As I just wanted to get all the posts written by a specific user, I clicked on the Posted by zone and typed in its username

However, I just got the message no users found!. Some time ago, even typing a single letter immediately showed a list of users , whose username began with that letter and sorted by decreasing number of written posts.

And I suppose that the problem is identical with the Tags choice. However, note that the Categories and Sort choices seem to work correctly.

Has anyone else noticed this problem ?

I know this isn’t what you’re referring to, as it should work from the menu drop down as you suggest, but I was able to search for posts by you, by just putting your name in the left upper search area. Perhaps, that dialog under the “gears” section is meant to be used in conjunction with the other dropdown menus at the same time. I know in a forum I use, I can search for a person, subject etc, in specific thread sections, or as you say “Categories”, when i use Thunderbird for my newsgroup email reader.

I have also noticed that, recently, the username filter in the advanced search page doesn’t populate usernames. I had thought it might have just been me.

I know that @barisusakli from NodeBB occasionally logs in, and they recently updated the forum software for us… maybe that version had a bug, because the admin panel says there’s another version available since they last updated us.

Until then, once you make your search, you can edit the URL to set &by=PeterJones to search for my posts (right now, the URL probably has &by= with no value). It’s not as convenient as the drop-down, but it is a workaround.
