Text area flashing black
-
I started noticing today that after opening notepad++ the text area will start flashing between black and white. It seems to stop when I start typing but will resume if I open a new document, or switch to another window and back to notepad++. I tried updating to 8.9.1 but didn’t make any difference.
Here’s a video of it in action:

The ?-menu’s Debug Info includes lots of important information for helping debug such problems, including details on your display and video driver, which are the likely culprit. You might want to look at the official bug report #17392: “[BUG] Flashing re-rendering alternately with different offsets” , as my initial guess is that your problem is related.

@PeterJones Thanks. Changing the rendering mode to GDI, DirectWrite (retain frames), or DirectWrite (Draw to GDI DC) seems to stop the issue.
